The next seminar will be given on the November 13th, 2025, 2pm in B014 room, by Amani Braham, ATER at LISIC/ULCO.
Title :
From ontology-based UI design and generation to LLM-Driven Knowledge Graphs: A Research Trajectory
Abstract:
This presentation outlines a research trajectory that bridges expert-based interface design and LLM-based knowledge modeling. The first part focuses on my doctoral research, which investigated the use of ontologies to represent Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) design patterns and to support the design and generation of user interfaces. Building on this foundation, my recent research has moved towards knowledge graph construction. Given the success of Large Language Models (LLMs), which have shown human-like reasoning abilities in different tasks, the second part explores the use of LLMs for building knowledge graphs from unstructured text.
Dr. Amani Braham received her Ph.D. in Computer Science in November 2022 from the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) and the University of Sousse (Tunisia). Her thesis dealt with knowledge representation using ontologies, as well the design and generation of user interfaces by using expert knowledge. She worked as an ATER at Jean Monnet University in Saint-Étienne from October 2023 to August 2025, and currently holds the same position at the IUT Littoral Côte d’Opale. Her recent research interests explore the use of large language models (LLMs) for knowledge graph construction.
