Title :
Grey-box approach for combinatorial optimization
Abstract:
It is common in evolutionary computation and metaheuristics to use the evaluation of the objective function as the only information of the problem to be optimized (black-box approach). However, in real life, we usually have more information about the optimization problem we face and we can use that information to design well-informed operators for evolutionary algorithms that can be much more effective than the traditional stochastic operators. This framework is sometimes called gray-box optimization. In this talk we describe gray-box operators, algorithms, frameworks, and recent advances in the field.
